This fall, Donna Karan’s collection is called, “Sensual.  Soulful.  Sculptural.”  It highlights the curves of a woman and embraces them.  The work of Donna Karan’s late husband, Stephen Weiss , a sculpture and painter who passed in 2001, was the inspiration for this collection.  “If you look at Stephen’s sculpture it’s all about the body. It’s my DNA. It’s who I am.”  She has gone back to her original design theory, her original Essentials collection of seven pieces which debuted in 1985.

Donna Karan noted in an earlier interview, “These are clothes for women like me – who live and work 24/7 with passion and dress with emotion.  I believe the body talks a language all its own.  Depending on your DNA, these clothes say something new every time and create a statement all your own.”

The collection is filled with comfortable and easy to wear fabrics, leather details and statement pieces, jersey dresses, finished with Donna Karan’s signature draping that give the entire ensemble an air of ease, style, and sophistication all at once.

From Donna Karan’s Modern Icon fall line, Frances Kahn has balanced separates that will integrate well amongst themselves or with your existing essentials.  The dresses handpicked from the collection lend themselves to be styled according to you, your mood, and your occasion.  “She [Donna Karan] got it right this season.  And I think we did too, in what we’ve picked,” said Frances Kahn owner, Rusty Lester.
